Dr. ElAlfy, MD MSc, FRCPC
Dr. ElAlfy, is a Royal College, Canadian Board certified anesthesiologist and an Interventional Pain Management Specialist at SWOPI.
Dr. ElAlfy uses both x Ray (Fluoroscopy) and ultrasound to perform precise injections when needed into the deeper anatomical tissue where pain is thought to generate from. These injections can be diagnostic and therapeutic at the same time.
Dr. ElAlfy was Born in Cairo, Egypt where he obtained his Medical Degree from Ain Shams University. He practiced as an anesthesiologist and an ICU specialist for several years in Cairo, Egypt. He then relocated to Canada where he successfully completed another residency training program in Anesthesiology at the University of Ottawa. He is an anesthesiologist at Cambridge Memorial Hospital and Joseph Brant Hospital in Cambridge and Burlington, Ontario.
Dr. ElAlfy acquired special interest in chronic pain management as a logical branching out from his long career in Anesthesiology and his passion for physiology, pharmacology and interventional procedures. Dr. ElAlfy went on to receive additional training in Interventional Pain Management under the supervision of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
Dr. ElAlfy is passionate about improving the quality of his patients’ lives and will always go the extra mile to ensure his patients are served with utmost care and dignity.
Dr. ElAlfy also holds the position of Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at McMaster University’s Michael DeGroote School of Medicine and the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He enjoys teaching to medical students, residents, and allied health care professionals such as paramedics and respiratory therapists.
In his leisure time, Dr. ElAlfy enjoys the company of his family and loves to take long hikes while listening to meditation and classical music.
